From the series: Ferry Trips to France

Arromanches-les-Bains is a small coastal village about 9km North of Bayeux. It is famously associated with the Normandy Landings of the Second World War as the site for the Mulberry Harbour – a system of concrete pontoon docks facilitating the unloading of over 300,000 troops and 100,000 tons of food and equipment in the first few weeks of operation. There is a small museum with information of Operation Overlord and the Mulberry caissons.
