Beach Events

Weymouth Beach is a beautiful stretch of soft, fine sand, stretching a mile along the sea front. The broadest section is near the Pavilion. It gets a bit pebbley nearer the Clocktower. From every point one can see the width of the Bay and the cliffs beyond. The sandy portion is ideal for Beach Events.

In the 60-70’s, the local authority added extra sand to the main area and some stones along Preston Beach for stability. The golden stretch of sand is Weymouth’s main tourism asset and also protects against flooding.

“Beach Events” in Weymouth means sunbathing, swimming and numerous annual events. There are dozens of great events annually, right in front of Aaran Guesthouse. Events range from Civil War and D-Day enactments to International Beach Volleyball and Motocross. Then there are fun events, such as Carnival Day, torchlight procession and the Santa Fun Run.
