Aaran House B&B Access Statement
Introduction

We aim to provide a Weymouth Hotel service in our friendly and welcoming  7 bedroom bed and breakfast holiday Guest House. The following statement is a summary. If you have any specific questions please feel free to call us and we will endeavour to help.

Pre-Arrival

ѫ      The bus terminus is near the rail station, 800 metres from the Guest House along

        mostly level paths with some steps up to our front door.
ѫ      The rail station is 1 kilometre away.
ѫ      We have a website with photographs of guest rooms, all reached up stairs.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

ѫ      There is paid street car parking on the roads outside, with normal height kerbs

         and no gradients. There is a large public car park about 250 yards away behind

         the Pavilion - a 24-hour scratch card permit may be purchased for £7:20

ѫ      Assistance with luggage is offered to guests.
ѫ      The entrance is accessed along concrete slab paths, where there are

        four stone steps up with level wooden flooring into the reception, guest lounge

        and guest dining area.

ѫ      The buildings are lit by floodlights at night.

Main Entrance & Reception

ѫ      Entrance is into the guest dining area, lounge and reception.
ѫ      Guest check-in is from 2:00 pm and we are usually available at other times
ѫ      Guests are escorted to rooms and facilities explained.
ѫ      Stairwells are well lit, decorated in light colours and have new fitted carpets.

Public Areas - General (Internal)

ѫ      Guest dining room has a level wooden floor.

ѫ      There are fitted carpets to the stairs and all guest rooms.

ѫ      The guest rooms are arranged on three upper floors.

ѫ      There are two flights of stairs per floor. (The first flights are 9 stairs and 7 stairs).

ѫ      Bathrooms/ shower rooms are all tiled.

Public Areas - WC

Guest bedroom WC's are en suite. There is a toilet at reception level.

Dining Room & Lounge

ѫ      Breakfast is served in the breakfast room on the ground floor.
ѫ      Furniture arrangement is flexible and can be moved on request.
ѫ      Square 4-leg dining tables have leg space of 67cm high.

ѫ      The dining chairs (without arms) are fairly light and can be repositioned.
ѫ      We do not play background music in any area of the B&B
ѫ      Vegetarian meals are provided on request.
ѫ      Aaran House bed and breakfast is no smoking throughout the premises.

Laundry

ѫ      An iron and ironing board are available on request

ѫ      There is no laundry service

Bedrooms

 

ѫ      All 7 bedrooms are up stairs, with secure lockable doors.
ѫ      Televisions all have remote controls. All rooms have flat screen freeview TV's.
ѫ      A bell is provided at reception to call for assistance.
ѫ      Carpets are all fitted short pile, with tiled or lino floors in bathrooms/ showers.
ѫ      Extra bedside lighting and shaver mirror lights are provided in all rooms.

Bathroom, Shower-room & WC [Ensuite ]

ѫ      Shower cubicles have a stepover/edge of about 14cm high.
ѫ      The bath in room 5 is 47cm high (large corner bath).
ѫ      The basins have pedestals and are about 86cm high.
ѫ      The toilets (twin lids) are about 46cm high.
ѫ      All rooms are bright, well lit and decorated in light colours.

ѫ      All rooms have radiators with thermostatic control valves.

Nearby Attractions

ѫ      The Beach is reached by crossing the road immediately in front

        of the Guest House and descending seven steps from the pavement.

ѫ      The Harbourside is reached along level paths and crossing the

        road at the rear of the Guest House, over tramway rails, with a

        short ramp up to the quayside, alternatively the pavement is at street level.

ѫ      The Condor Ferry and Pavilion Theatre are reached by crossing

        the road and car park to the Northeast side of the guest house, along

        level paths. They are both less than 100 yards away

 Additional Information

Room six has a secure (external lock / internal bolt) shared shower and WC across the landing. All other rooms are en-suite (shower room or bath and WC).
